On September 20,  Consul General Liu Hongmei attended the dinner held by the Overseas Chinese Groups in Nakhon Ratchasima to celebrate the 74th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China. Nearly 300 people attended the event, including Deputy Governors of Nakhon Ratchasima, Advisor to Prime Minister of Thailand, representatives of local overseas Chinese groups and Chinese overseas students.

Consul General Liu appreciated the overseas Chinese groups in Nakhon Ratchasima for organizing China National Day activities for 28 consecutive years, praised the local overseas Chinese for their sincere love of the prosperity and development of their home country, and said that the Chinese Consulate General will always adhere to the principle of "loving and protecting overseas Chinese", continue to serve overseas Chinese wholeheartedly and respond to concerns of overseas Chinese. Liu hoped that the overseas Chinese in Northeastern Thailand, including Nakhon Ratchasima Province, continue to play the role of bridge and link to bring China-Thailand people-to-people exchanges to a higher level and promote even better and closer China-Thailand relations.

Representatives attended the meeting unanimously thanked the Chinese Consulate General for its long-term support and help, and were willing to work with the Consulate General to continuously promote new achievements in cooperation between the two countries and local governments.

Before the dinner, Liu also held discussions with representatives of local overseas Chinese groups and met with Chinese overseas students who participated in the performance.
