Welcome to the website of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Khon Kaen.
The Consulate General was established in 2012 with a consular district covering 20 provinces in northeastern Thailand, namely, Loei, Nongkhai, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon, Udon Thani, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Si Sa Ket, Surin, Buri Ram, Nakhon Ratchasima. Sitting in the center of Indo-China Peninsula and sharing borders with Laos and Cambodia, Northeastern Thailand is a hub of connectivity and a core area where China-Thai Railway covers with Thailand’s north-south traffic route. Possessing 1/3 of Thailand’s population and area, Northeastern Thailand is also a significant agricultural area and a main producing area of fragrant rice.
At present, China has marched on a new journey of building a modern socialist country in all respects. China-Thai relations have also come into a new era of building a community with a shared future. The Consulate General will perform its duties, join hands with all provinces and all walks of life to further promote friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between China and Northeastern Thailand, continously contributing to China-Thai Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
